Due to the current LockDown in South Africa we will be running this instalment of Meditation for Normal People 😉 via Zoom.

For those who don’t know, Meditation for Normal People is an introduction to the basic ideas and concepts of meditation in particular and mindfulness in general.

Mindfulness and meditation have become popular topics in the last few years and the practices have been introduced all  across the world from corporations to schools. But mindfulness is more than just stress reduction and a greater ability to focus. Misconceptions and assumptions about this timeless practice are common.

Over the course of three sessions we will clarify some of the main theories of meditation, debunk common misunderstandings and learn how to establish your own meditation practice.

This course has been running for 5 years now and has had close to 100 people go through the training. The intended outcome is to introduce to the practical aspects of meditation and mindfulness in daily life. Some of what we will cover includes:

  • insights from the latest scientific findings;
  • clearing up common misconceptions;
  • instruction into basic meditation and mindfulness practices; and
  • exploration into potential life changes through the application of awareness training.

Sessions will run on Saturday mornings from 10:30 – 12:30
